Tutorial Tuesday - how to make a mug cosy

I was inspired to make these mug cosies by my mum. On these chilly days there is nothing my mum likes better than walking around her garden with a mug of coffee but all too quickly the coffee goes cold and thus the walk is ended. The solution is a mug cosy!
To make a mug cosy you will need a piece of fleece fabric 10 cm by 40 cm. Some ribbon. A button and a needle and thread.
You can sew this all by hand is you want but I also used my sewing machine.

First fold the fleece fabric in half lengthways right sides together and stitch one end and along the length.

Then turn the fleece the right way around

Wrap around your mug to obtain where your button will be positioned and place a pin there.

Then at the open end tuck in the ends and add a ribbon loop. Sew the end closed.

Then sew on your button at the position you marked earlier.
